The dead man is Anton Weiss, one of a crew of three geologists stationed at a nearby base, they who were searching for meteorites. Common sense would dictate that the best thing to do would be for the bad guys to either drop the body down an ice crevasse somewhere or leave it inside the plane under the ice. And since there are relatively few people in Antarctica, it's pretty easy to trace the victim back to the group of geologists he was working with. Stetko explores the body and finds several bags of large, uncut diamonds.

An obvious place for this would be in showing how the wound affects Stetko's coordination in her gun hand. Two Russian pilots are in the cockpit talking about the cargo they are carrying. WHITEOUT is a thriller based on the Greg Rucka graphic novel. Despite a lack of other people and places to go, the writers of this film did an excellent job at keeping this movie intriguing. Why? He had hoped that the diamonds would make him wealthy outside Antarctica. Which is rather anticlimactic. It's a by the numbers horror tinged thriller that could have been exciting with its wild concept and location but pretty much phones it in all the way through. In fact, the person she trusts most turns out to be part of the whole scheme behind the murder (surprise, surprise).
