The Clinic also typically works on matters and projects at local, state, national, and even international levels.Freedom from discrimination in housing is ensured under the Fair Housing Act, but zealous advocacy is required to enforce it. All of our clients face not only the direct consequences of convictions but also the indirect consequences. Clinic students have the opportunity to represent clients facing eviction and/or substandard housing in Baltimore City housing court, and also to work with housing advocates in Baltimore City to advocate for reform on the city and state level to address the current crisis.Student attorneys have opportunities to gain trial practice, litigation, and negotiation experience while representing clients before the IRS or Comptroller of Maryland.
