My bass is a 30" scale but has 2" between the bridge and the tailpiece so in fact they are not quite long enough for it. When I first played with the strings I expected there to be a lot of low-end tone without any cleaner tones but I was pleasantly surprised. Decent sound, far better than my (very) old nylon tapewounds that they replaced, but intonation up the neck as always with short scale basses is still not great on the lower strings. Distinctive bright tone and booming, tight lows. Be warned that the 32" scale is the length of the fully wound part of the string. But they're nickel wound roundwounds, and they're advertised as bright so it's a personal preference thing not a 'bad string' thing; so they stay at 5. Definitely a quality product.
