Visiting the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens is like getting an unexpected gift. Only minutes from downtown Los Angeles and just over the Los Angeles River, this gorgeous event facility will fit many a bride’s idea of the dream wedding location. A wide, circular brick driveway with a spreading ficus tree in the center marks the entrance, and through the arched, wrought-iron gate you get your first glimpse of the fountains, flowers and serenity inside.The small courtyard at the entry is a charming introduction to the Center, but before long the carved wooden doors at the back beckon you into the Main Courtyard, the ideal spot for a special event. Luckily, we stumbled upon the LA River Center and Gardens and thought it was perfect because of the greenery, it was only minutes away from our home in Silver Lake, and we loved that it was owned by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, which funds some of our favorite hiking trails. Déjà vu! Its beautiful mission-style grounds and conference facilities serve as a focal point for the renewal of the Los Angeles River, and a prime location for community gatherings, educational conferences, and special events.In addition to the beautiful gardens at the  Los Angeles River  Center, visitors can enjoy an exhibit hall that celebrates the eleven miles of natural river where reeds, willows, mulefat, and native riparian plants have returned.
