The University of Leeds’ second Student Sustainability Conference will be taking place on Thursday 8 February, 2018. Currently, the topic of sustainability in dentistry is not part of the curriculum for undergraduate programmes at the University of Leeds Dental School. The Sustainability and Consultancy MSc at the University of Leeds offers a grounding in the broad range of sustainability topics beyond just environmental issues (from project development to corporate sustainability strategy).

This project explores both dental healthcare students’ level of awareness of sustainability in healthcare, and their attitudes towards incorporating teaching on sustainability in dentistry into their courses. We specialise in participatory, action-oriented research that brings together government, business, NGOs and local communities.

For example, we are working closely with Leeds City Council and a range of public and private organisations to tackle the city’s climate challenges.
We will become a university where sustainability is truly embedded through knowledge, engagement, collaboration and innovation.
