"We went there tonight while visiting our UF college student. After the initial confusion on our part, we were sat promptly, and explained about the menu, desserts, and the like. It was a little small and was served with fries, but it is also on the lunch menu for the same price.

She was attentive, friendly, and very personable! An English couple runs the place and they do a great job. We were starving and we had to keep asking for more bread cause the waiting staff couldn't do simple math. The service was so awful, the server Stevie appeared stoned, was forgetting everything, and didn't even offer my two small children a children's menu!

There is a friendly pub, the Kings Arms, down the hall from the dining room. I had beef and mushroom pie this time - nice flavor of beef and mushrooms and nice crust. Our waitress constantly would forget to bring drinks. Out of some of the stuff we ordered.

The food itself and especially desserts, is actually great, once it eventually makes it to the table. Had the Ruben sandwich and a salad. **Review based solely on desserts. I asked her for her…""Flaco's is truly a Gainesville institution and one of the best restaurants downtown. The food is good, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. I just felt so at home! The bar area, nestled away from the main restaurant is the hidden gem of this place. So far, I've only tried the Welsh cakes, but they were just as delicious as everything else I've had here.

Was told that the food would be ready in about 15min, so that's when I arrived.
